The idea to create a whisky for the german heavy metal band Grave Digger came from the band’s guitar player Axel Ritt. After many tastings the distilling team from Ziegler Distillery was converted to the sound of the band – and created a whisky to convince both sides.
This is a six year old single malt, a first year matured in new allier oak and chestnut casks, then transferred for 5 years into ex-bourbon casks. Added is some single malt matured for 6 years in sherry casks from Gonzalez Buass and and a little share of peated whisky from ex-bourbon casks.
